We are thrilled to have welcomed you to the 42nd Congress of the ESCRS in Barcelona. Your active involvement and support made this event a tremendous success. It was a pleasure to see so many of you joining us for this exceptional gathering, which highlighted the latest advancements and best practices in cataract and refractive surgery.

The Barcelona Congress was not only a significant milestone with over 16,735 participants, but it also continued our commitment to inclusivity. With delegates from 126 countries, we strengthened connections with ophthalmological societies worldwide, creating a collaborative environment that benefits all.

We are immensely grateful for your valuable contributions as speakers, moderators, panellists, poster and oral presenters, sponsors, exhibitors, and attendees. Your expertise and insights, shared with clarity and enthusiasm, enriched the scientific discourse and fostered a collaborative environment. This year’s Congress introduced several new programme highlights designed to enhance learning and engagement. Research and education were celebrated and progressed through the Training Labs, elevating clinical practice and ensuring our members have access to the latest tools and insights.

We were also excited to celebrate the remarkable achievements within our community over the years, through the 75th Anniversary Museum, while new formats and opportunities for sharing experiences, fostering connections, and making meaningful contributions were introduced through the BOSS Programme Track, speed mentoring, and networking.
