ESCRS President’s Dinner

The ESCRS President’s Dinner is upon invitation-only

This special evening offers not only the chance to meet and network with colleagues, but also the opportunity to support the ESCRS’s ongoing commitment to improving access to high-quality eye care in underserved communities across Sub-Saharan Africa.

The ESCRS invests approximately €600,000 each year in carefully selected charitable projects in the region, complemented by substantial professional, educational and organisational support. However, the need remains considerable.

As part of the arrangements for the President’s Dinner, guests are asked to make a contribution of €50 per person in support of two non-profit organisations championed by the ESCRS: the “Community Eye Health Institute at the University of Cape Town” and “Medical Missions Eswatini“.

As part of the arrangements for the President’s Dinner – After Dinner, guests are asked to make a contribution of €20 per person in support of two non-profit organisations championed by the ESCRS: the “Community Eye Health Institute at the University of Cape Town” and “Medical Missions Eswatini“.

All contributions will be transferred directly to these two trusted partners. Both organisations deliver practical, locally tailored programmes, including sustainable “train-the-trainer” initiatives for cataract surgeons and ophthalmic teams from across Africa.

The ESCRS is immensely grateful to the guests of the President’s Dinner and After Dinner for supporting these important initiatives.
